Let Me Count the Ways: Six Years

Evan - We waited three anxious years for you to join our family. We longed for your presence and the day you were born was one of the longest, most thrilling days of my life. You were perfect. A perfect little spirit to brighten our home and make eternity immediately real.

Those three years seemed to drag on forever. But now six years have passed in the blink of an eye!

You are such a joy to our family. Your smile is contagious and your laugh infectious. You love to tell jokes, give hugs, help your sisters, solve problems, learn new things, and play hard.

You are getting better at behaving appropriately at school and church. Listening and paying attention have been a struggle for you, but you are working hard at being “Outstanding”. You are also learning that with a little perseverance, you can do anything. You are a smart kid and frustrations and complaining only get in the way of that.

This last year has brought so many new adventures. You learned how to ride your bike like a pro, you started school, fell in love with math, learned how to read, moved to a new house, made lots of new friends, and became a big brother times 3.

I can’t wait to see what new adventures and growth this next year will bring for our big Six-Year-Old.
